Height calculator
Compare a recorded height with the WHO reference
This informational calculator reports current height, age, and height percentile. It does not predict adult height.
Methodology
This calculator uses the published WHO 2007 height-for-age LMS tables for ages 5–19. For this indicator, L is 1. The z-score is (recorded height − median) ÷ (median × S). Percentile comes from the standard normal curve.
Age is completed calendar months from the date of birth to the measurement date. The measurement month counts only once its day reaches the birthday day. That month selects one published row from 61 through 228. The calculator does not interpolate between rows. Whole years and months use the same count: 10 years and 0 months is 120 months.
Exactly 5 years is 60 completed months, which is before the table, so no percentile is shown. Exactly 19 years is month 228. One month past 19 years is outside the table. The result shows the completed month that was used.
Read what the percentile means, see the reference curves, and the fuller explanation in growth science. The height percentile article explains that result without the calculation steps.
